Two-vehicle crash in unincorporated Spring Grove sends one to hospital

17-year-old female drive of sedan was airlifted to Libertyville hospital, now reported to be in stable condition

The 17-year-old female driver of a Ford Focus was airlifted to a Libertyville hospital Tuesday afternoon after her car collided with a Ford F350 pickup truck at the intersection of Wilmot Road and Miller Road in unincorporated Spring Grove.

The driver of the sedan was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. She is now reported to be in stable condition.

The two-vehicle crash occurred roughly 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Aimee Knop said in a written statement.

The sheriff’s office responded along with the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.

The crash resulted in roughly five hours of roadway closures for drivers in the area through Tuesday afternoon and late into the evening, Knop said.

The driver of the F350, a 49-year-old man, was treated and released on the scene of the crash, she said.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office’s Accident Investigation Unit is still investigating the crash, and Knop was unable to say what caused it as of late Tuesday night.
