As of Aug. 6, only three McHenry County school districts still had in-person learning as part of their immediate reopening plans. They include Marengo-Union Elementary District 165, Marengo High School District 154 and Riley School District 18.
Some private schools have also announced they will stick will their in-person plans. That includes Marian Central Catholic High School, which is on track to resume five-day-a-week, in-person instruction Aug. 17.
While some districts have set a specific date for when in-person learning might resume, others have not, saying they want the flexiblity to start back up again as soon as possible.
