The evenings festivities will start with a ceremony in Streator's City Park at 6:30 p.m, where the Light Up Streator volunteer committee will switch on their beautiful lighted displays for the first time this season. The busy committee has been working tirelessly through November to get the park ready for this unveiling, which will feature more than a dozen new decorations crafted by Streator High School welding students. The Lighted Parade will feature three sponsored lighted floats, along with a slew of homemade floats created by locals. The parade starts at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the corner of Illinois and Main. From there it will head west down Main Street, providing ample spectating opportunities. ([www.streator.org])
