Burcar got started on RC Flyers years before he opened for business: His wife surprised him with a remote control airplane kit in 1986 and he fell in love with the hobby. He opened up Dynamic Balsa to share his passion for remote control flying with everyone else. “I bought a business that processed balsa wood in 1992 and started making wood kits and Styrofoam kits,” Burcar said. “This ended up being a good way to supplement my airplane habit.” Burcar owns and operates Double R Manufacturing in Leonore and that’s where he spends most of his time, but Dynamic Balsa’s shop hours remain open while he’s busy at the machine shop; his phone number is on the door and all it takes is a quick call for Burcar to drop in to the shop.
