SYCAMORE – In spite of challenging rainy and snowy weather on Saturday, Dec. 12, members of the Rotary Club of Sycamore supported local Salvation Army bell-ringing efforts at the Sycamore Jewel-Osco.
In addition to sharing holiday greetings with store shoppers, Rotarians also did Christmas caroling to help others get into the holiday spirit this year.
This year's effort was coordinated by Captain of the Salvation Army Stephen Hansen, Superintendent of Sycamore School District 427 Steve Wilder and Rotary Club of Sycamore President Michael DeVito. Additional participating members included Renae Wilkinson, Steve Kuhn, Fred Peltz, Heidi Wright, Michele Jurkovic and family, Madeline DeVito, Jim Buck, Bob Brown, Sally Bruch, Jeff Jacobson, Paul Stromberg and Jeff Peterson, according to a news release.
The Rotary Club of Sycamore is one of over 34,000 rotary clubs worldwide of the world's largest international service organization. The Sycamore club helps with international, regional and local efforts focused on the motto of "Service Above Self."
