PRINCETON — A Spring Valley man is headed to prison for burglary to a vehicle.
Donald L. Lusietto, 35, was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Bureau County Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich for the Class 3 felony.
Lusietto was charged Oct. 26 of this year after a victim reported to the Spring Valley Police Department that her purse had been stolen out of her vehicle that day. There had been multiple other vehicle burglaries over the previous couple of days that had been reported to the Spring Valley Police Department.
Members of the Spring Valley Police Department obtained and viewed surveillance video near the victim’s vehicle and other vehicles that were burglarized and Lusietto was seen on the surveillance videos. Lusietto admitted he walked past the victim’s vehicle, saw the purse in the vehicle, entered the vehicle and stole the purse.
Bureau County First Assistant State's Attorney Tom Briddick prosecuted the case. Lusietto was represented by Bureau County Public Defender Ray Nolasco.
