MORRIS — As with most things in 2020, COVID-19 has forced Grundy Area Vocational Center to change the way it had previously operated.
For example, GAVC would normally be conducting tours for sophomores and juniors in area high schools, such as Morris Community High School, Minooka Community High School, Coal City High School, Gardner-South Wilmington High School and Seneca High School.
In a normal year, students would be able to visit GAVC and walk around the building, getting information on the courses offered.
This year, though, the tours are being conducted virtually. Students can still get a taste of what GAVC offers, but will have to do it online.
Students can visit www.gavc-il.org to take a virtual tour and learn about GAVC and all of the programs they have to offer.
The programs include Agriculture, Automotive Technology, Building Trades, Computer Graphics & Multimedia Design, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood, Engineering (STEM), Entrepreneurship, Fire Science, Introduction to Information Technology/CISCO, Health Occupations, and Welding.
