The Sauk Valley reported three new coronavirus deaths and 130 cases Thursday.
Whiteside County reported a death of a person in his or her 80s and 37 new cases, with six younger than 20, two in their 20s, 11 in their 30s, four in their 40s, six in their 50s, three in their 60s, one in his or her 70s and four 80 or older. There were also 100 new recoveries, and the county now totals 4,269 cases, 103 deaths and 2,476 recoveries.
Lee County announced a death of a woman older than 100 and 30 new cases, with three teens, three in their 20s, four in their 30s, 10 in their 40s, four in their 50s, two in their 60s and one each in their 70s and 80s; two cases were from the Dixon Correctional Center. There were 23 new recoveries, for a total of 2,129 cases, 37 deaths and 1,649 recoveries.
Ogle County reported the death of a woman in her 70s as well as 63 cases, and now totals 3,314 cases, 45 deaths and 2,611 recoveries.
Carroll County did not report updated statistics Thursday, and has had a total of 1,184 cases and 27 deaths.
The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties) has seen zero consecutive days under the 12% positivity rate. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 14.2%. Currently, 24.3% of medical/surgical beds are available, and 21.2% of ICU beds.
The region has 11 consecutive days above the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability, and 11 consecutive days above the 20% threshold for medical/surgical bed availability.
Region 1 has a rolling, seven-day average of 230 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. Hospitalizations have decreased 10 out of the past 10 days in this region.
Lee County’s rate decreased to 13.1%, and Whiteside County’s rate decreased to 12.7%.
Within the region, there are 33 available, staffed ICU beds out of 179 total, an increase of five from Wednesday.
Illinois announced 11,101 new cases and 196 deaths Thursday. The state has had 823,531 cases with 13,861 deaths.
