H-BR state championship teams heading into hall of fame

The back-to-back state championship teams for Hinckley-Big Rock Girls basketball were announced as part of the 2021 Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame class.

The team won titles in both 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. They went a combined 64-5 in those two seasons.

In the 2010 title game, Jenna Throp - who went on to play for NIU - scored 14 points to lead the Royals to a 38-32 win against Jacksonville.

The year before, Tess Godhart scored 19 and Thorp had 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 42-30 win against Winchester.

No date for the induction ceremony has been set yet.
