Members from the American Legion Riders Post #181 from Sandwich presented a check to Karen Spangler, Lions Club grocery chairperson for the Franklin Mall Christmas Project in Sandwich. This project began in 1954 and is now being directed by the Sandwich Lions Club. Local businesses, organizations, churches, schools have worked together to supply groceries to about 230 households that need a helping hand during the holidays. Previous years, volunteers sort, pack, and deliver food boxes to the families in the community. This year, a committee is ordering pre-packaged food boxes to deliver to families.
