A Seneca man accused of sexually assaulting a 72-year-old woman was indicted Tuesday on a second, lesser count alleging abuse of the same victim and on the same date.
Kevin J. Paulsen, 23, already was facing one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a victim over 60, a Class X felony carrying 6-30 years in prison with no possibility of probation. Tuesday, a grand jury indicted him on one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony carrying 3-7 years.
Paulsen, who will next appear Dec. 18, is being held in La Salle County Jail in lieu of $500,000.
Also indicted Tuesday were: Eric Smith, 24, of Crown Point, Ind. (retail theft); Lizeaux Davis, 30, of Joliet (unlawful possession of methamphetamine); Paul Chandler, 32, of Blue Island (two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon); Christine Fluech, 42, of Streator (retail theft); Brandon Valdez, 36, of Ottawa (aggravated battery); Keyon Rowe, 28, of Streator (aggravated assault); Godelevo Hernandez-Lopez, 25, of Aurora (aggravated domestic battery); Alex Baiz, 22, of Marseilles (three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance); Christina Williams, 54, of Rutland (unlawful delivery of a controlled substance); Deidra Dennis, 32, of Wenona (three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance); Stephen Alsip, 47, of Oswego (possession of contraband in a penal institution); Shane Storer, 33, of Sandwich (unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon); Dustin Farrell, 37, of Ottawa (domestic battery); Clarence Otis, 28, of Peoria (aggravated fleeing and eluding); Justin Lewis, 28, of La Salle (aggravated fleeing and eluding; unlawful possession of a controlled substance).
