Aurora Downtown will host a Cocoa Non-Crawl this year. The downtown organization recently reimagined this year’s popular Cocoa Crawl without the “Crawl.”
It is offering the following creative ways to participate in the Non-Crawl:
• Buy an exclusive (and red!) 2020 Cocoa Crawl mug. Aurora Downtown said they are never adding a year again to Cocoa Crawl mugs, so this is sure to be a collector’s item. You can get them while they are hot, and for less money the sooner you buy them. Mugs are now on sale at Aurora Regional Fire Museum, Society 57, The Cotton Seed Creative Exchange, and Wyckwood House.
• Buy a Cocoa Non-Crawl mug kit. Starting Nov. 15, the 2020 Cocoa Crawl mug will be sold as a Cocoa Non-Crawl kit with the addition of hot cocoa recipes and a card for $1 off hot cocoa at participating downtown locations to use for the month of December. The kits will cost $12 until Dec. 1 when they go up to $15 each until they are sold out. There will only be 200 kits available.
• Aurora Downtown partnered with Aurora Public Library to publish a 2020 Cocoa Crawl cookbook of local hot cocoa recipes. Submit your recipe at auroradowntown.org by Nov. 23. Artists are invited to submit their sketch for a cookbook cover to info@auroradowntown.org by Nov. 15.
There will be no Cocoa Crawl on Dec. 4 this year, but Aurora Downtown will host a Virtual Plus First Fridays that will include opportunities to shop small at downtown merchants and online content. Aurora Express, a downtown-wide display of storefronts featuring trains and other modes of transportation by local artists, will be ongoing.
