Archive treasures to be shared at Brown Bag

Since October is National Archives Month, the DeKalb County History Center asked staff, volunteers and their history partners to share some of their favorites from the archives.

The Brown Bag/Local Lore program on Thursday, Nov. 5, will offer a chance to learn about some of these pieces of history that have been preserved over the years.

“Working with researchers as well as on internal projects, we regularly come across interesting photos, documents and maps – some that might not have been seen in years,” Michelle Donahoe, executive director of the history center, said in a news release. “The Brown Bag/Local Lore program seemed like a great opportunity to showcase some of these special pieces with others. If anyone has anything to share from their personal collection, we would enjoy hearing those stories, too.”

The Brown Bag/Local Lore program is held at noon the first Thursday of the month and is sponsored by the DeKalb County History Center and Ellwood House. All programs are virtual.

Those interested in attending should email info@dekalbcountyhistory.org. The programs are free, but registration is required.
