High school sports roundup for Monday, Oct. 19

Cary-Grove's Emily Marks swam to three first-place finishes Monday, leading the Trojans to a 75-53 Fox Valley Conference dual meet win over Crystal Lake South co-op at Sage YMCA in Crystal Lake.

Marks was first in the the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.48), 50 free (26.72) and 100 free (56.74). Maddie Dolezal took first in the 500 free (5:46.03) and Lizzy Fournier won the 100 butterfly (1:05.60) for the Trojans.

Avery Watson had two wins for the Gators in the 200 individual medley (2:20.13) and 100 backstroke (1:03.31). Olivia Dannhaus added a win in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.09).

Huntley 65, McHenry 63: At McHenry, Ella Young placed first in two events and the Red Raiders kept their perfect season intact with a dual meet win over the Warriors. Young took first in the 200 IM (2:20.36) and 100 breaststroke (1:13.58).

Abigail DeVries took first in the 100 butterfly (1:05.11) and Raquel Salinas captured the 500 free (5:43.21) title for the Raiders.

McHenry's four wins all came from Melisa Nava, who won the 200 free (2:05.80), 50 free (26.88), 100 free (57.68) and 100 backstroke (1:03.76).
