Letter: I voted early by mail, have you? Here's who I voted for

To the Editor:

I voted early by Mail, have you? My ballot came in the mail Saturday, I followed the instructions, marked my Ballot and mailed it the same day. This simple process is how you can have your voice heard this November.

This is the goal of your DeKalb County Democratic Party this year, to ensure all voters in DeKalb County have a say in their Government from the County Board to the White House.

To truly have a government of the people, by the People and for the People, We the People must vote. The more of us who vote, the more clear our message will be that accepting things as they are is not good enough. If we want to preserve our Democracy and once again move toward a More Perfect Union, we need to vote; but of course there is always more.

As each of us is able, we need to take that next step and get involved. Whether you take your friends to the Polls, volunteer as an Election Judge, write Letters to the Editor, do Campaign Literature drops, make phone calls, donate to a candidate, or do one of countless other things necessary to Democratic victories in November; our Party and our candidates need you. Election Day is just over a month away, we need a sprint to the finish!

First on your Ballot, a chance to help set things right in Illinois by voting for the Fair Tax; it is time to end the failed experiment of a regressive flat income tax. After that, we have a full slate of Democrats starting with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Senator Durbin, Congresswoman Underwood, and 16th District Candidate Dani Brzozowski. Our candidates for State Representative: Paul Stoddard (70th) and Seth Wiggins (90th), will both work to bring better representation to Springfield from Northern Illinois.

Our county wide candidates Rukisha Crawford for Circuit Clerk, Cat Prescott for Coroner, Anna Wilhelmi for State’s Attorney and our County Board candidates: Jill Simpson, Christi Slavenas, Josh Orr, Amber Quitno, Kiara Jones, Craig Roman, Terri Mann Lamb, Chris Porterfield, Neill Mohammad, Mary Cozad, Court Schuett, Bobbie McFarland, and Brian Kubisak give voters all across DeKalb County the chance to have a Government that truly represents them.

To help in this effort, please visit us on Facebook or at www.dekalbcountydems.org, or at our DeKalb Office, or text/call 815-757-3823.
