High school sports roundup for Wednesday, Oct. 14

McHenry's Melisa Nava won three events Wednesday as the Warriors defeated Jacobs co-op, 79-49, in their Fox Valley Conference dual meet in McHenry.

Nava won the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.36), 100 freestyle (59.39) and 100 backstroke (1:05.25) for the Warriors. Also for McHenry, Andrea Avila won the 100 butterfly (1:07.60) and Reilly Byron won the 100 breaststroke (1:17.85).

Jacobs co-op's Jenny Tokarz took first in the 200 free (2:02.23) and 500 free (5:33.85). Julia Koltuniuk was first in the 50 free (27.53) for the Eagles.

Huntley 77, Woodstock North co-op 51: At Woodstock, the Red Raiders remained undefeated in FVC duals with a win over the Thunder.

GIRLS TENNIS

Marian Central 3, Johnsburg 3: At Johnsburg, the Hurricanes won three doubles matches and the Skyhawks won three singles matches in their nonconference dual meet. The No. 3 doubles match was not completed.

Gracie Cittadino (No. 1), Jilly Popovich (No. 2) and Amber Conant (No. 3) each won in two sets at singles for Johnsburg.

Winning at doubles for Marian were Maggie Gillaspie and Avery DiGangi (No. 1), Tess Meisner and Beth Noonan (No. 2) and Selia McManus and Julia Widhalm (No. 4).
