DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library and StoryCorps, a national oral history project, will host a one-hour webinar about StoryCorps Connect, the organization’s newest service developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
StoryCorps Connect offers a free platform for community members and families to connect and record conversations remotely to be preserved at the Library of Congress. This hour will feature stories, tips and best practices for recording a conversation of your own with a loved one.
The free webinar will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20. Register at dkpl.org.
The library encourages residents of DeKalb to use the technology to connect with loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic and, in the process, to contribute to the creation of a unique first-person historical record of this unprecedented crisis. The conversations are preserved for future generations at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and become instantly accessible and shareable through the StoryCorps Archive.
