To the Editor:
Driving by Main and Peru streets, I noticed a “Joe Biden for AARP President” sign prominently displayed. While some might think this is cute, I found it offensive. What is the implication? That Biden is too old? Trump is four years his junior. Is he too old? If people think he is an idiot, it’s not because of his age.
Some of the smartest people I know are in their seventies, eighties and even nineties. Wonder why? They know things. They have experience. They’ve lived.
Being older is not a hindrance and the implication is shameful. Think about it. Someday, Lord willing, we will all get there. And we won’t want to be treated like fools.
