The Jacobs' girls tennis team defeated Huntley, 4-3, in a Fox Valley Conference dual meet Monday in Huntley.
The Golden Eagles' victory over the Red Raiders came two days after Huntley earned the team championship at the Fox Valley Conference Tournament. On Monday, it was Jacobs that came out on top.
For the Eagles, Chloe Siegfort won, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 singles, and Isha Desai won, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 singles. Jacobs also got three-set wins from Kaya Trumbo and Lara Santa-Ines (No. 1 doubles) and Anya Wieczorek and Lissie Kontos (No. 4 doubles).
Huntley's Talia Duffy and Dyllan Cash (No. 2) and Kareena Patel and Michelle Chan (No. 3) won their doubles matches in three sets. Alessandra Rivera had a win at No. 3 singles.
Crystal Lake Central 4, Cary-Grove 3: At Crystal Lake, Natalia Piekunko (No. 2) and Katie Hopkins (No. 3) each won their singles matches in two sets in the Tigers' FVC dual win.
Olivia Johnson and Megan Rapisarda (No. 2) also won their doubles matches in two sets for Central. The Tigers' No. 4 doubles team of Grace Cullian and Anika Richard won, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The Trojans' Sara Greenwald beat Ellie McGinnis, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 1 singles.
Also for C-G, Kate Larry and Katie Jannusch won, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles, while Lexie Soltis and Nicki Carpatiuc captured a win at No. 3 doubles.
Woodstock North 7, Woodstock 0: At Woodstock, the visiting Thunder dropped one set in the Kishwaukee River Conference dual win over the Blue Streaks. Sophia Ferru (No. 1), Anika Treadway (No. 2) and Ximena Garcia (No. 3) each won their singles matches in straight sets.
Picking up wins at doubles for North were Kaitlyn Mauck and Maggie Thomas (No. 1), Bethany Lintner and Jacky Alvarez (No. 2), Sophia Davidson and Belinda Mendoza (No. 3) and Elle Lagerstrom and Mariam Syed (No. 4).
Hampshire 5, Prairie Ridge 2: At Hampshire, Anika Patel won, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, while Clare Hahn won, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 singles for the Whip-Purs in the FVC dual victory.
May Kimura and Karolina Ryzka (No. 1), Taylor Sweet and Lauren Marckini (No. 2) and Evelyn Renaldi and Grace Rose (No. 3) added wins at doubles for Hampshire.
Abby Dahlem won at No. 3 singles and Jessica Cunningham and Calista Pollack won at No.4 doubles for Prairie Ridge.
