PRINCETON — Abigail Pence, the daughter of Patrick Pence and Jodi Debo, has been selected as the Class of 2021 Princeton High School Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award winner. This award is sponsored by the Princeton-Illinois Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
This DAR Good Citizen Award is presented to a senior based on qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism to an outstanding degree. Pence was selected for this honor by the faculty and her classmates.
Throughout high school, Pence has been involved in volleyball, softball, choir, prom committee and Year One. She has been selected as a National Honor Society member, president of the Class of 2021, Student Council vice president and president, and district Student Council vice president. She has earned the honors of high honor roll, First Class Award, Most Valuable Player, Sportsmanship Award, Student of the Month, Board of Education Award, Scholastic Achievement Award and Certificate of Service. She has volunteered in a variety of PHS capacities and community organizations, including Hornbaker Gardens, helping local elderly, Youth Science Night, junior high volleyball tournaments and Young Life Events. She has received the Service Learning Accomplishment by earning over 100 service learning hours. Her future plans include attending college and majoring in exercise science.
