Two top cabaret acts to spice autumn at Raue Center For The Arts

Raue Center For The Arts announces two new live cabaret shows in its fall lineup that can be enjoyed at the theater or from home.

The 7 p.m. Friday performances will feature Chicago artists Jacquelyn Vale on Sept. 25, and Sierra White on Oct. 9.

Jacquelyn Vale will jazz up September with her show "Behind the Vale: An Evening with Jacquelyn Vale," a news release stated. She is described as a spectacular vocalist who covers a unique variety of jazz, rock, soul, pop and country from all eras.

"Her timeless voice, combined with a glamorous look reminiscent of Hollywood's Golden Age, offers a vintage feel with a modern twist," the release stated.

Sierra White will usher in autumn by celebrating all the things she loves about October and Halloween. White has worked professionally in the entertainment field since age 18, with credits including "All Shook Up" (Sylvia) and "A Raisin in the Sun" (Ruth).

"Her cabaret performance will feature spellbinding tunes from masters of mood, including Eartha Kitt, Nancy Wilson, Tom Waits and more," the release stated.

"Over the past 15 years, we've worked with some truly impeccable artistry at Raue Center For The Arts and Williams Street Repertory," Richard Kuranda, executive director for Raue Center, stated in the release. "When the pandemic's impact hindered our ability to stage mainstage shows, we pivoted towards smaller shows that threw the spotlight on the individual artist. The new cabaret series was born out of this. These entertainers are powerhouses in the Chicago region, and I'm sure you'll enjoy them. I hope you'll join us."

Both performances will be capped at 50 people. Audience members will be spread out to maintain social distance, and masks are required when entering the theater and throughout one's stay.

Another option is the virtual ticket for a way to stay home and still enjoy the performances. Raue Center For The Arts is at 26 N. Williams St. in Crystal Lake. To purchase live or virtual tickets, contact 815-356-9212 or www.rauecenter.org.
