Are you ready to hit the road and visit some local Ogle County businesses this weekend?
A Back Roads Market is being offered on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participants will travel country roads in Ogle County, making four stops that feature vintage goods, refurbished furniture, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, food, baked goods, pumpkins, apples and aronia berries.
No fees will be charged to participate. The locations are:
• Vintage Chicks and Feeds, 700 state Route 72, East Leaf River. More than 20 vendors offering local honey, soaps, lotion, antiques, vintage wares, wooden barn quilts, and collectibles. Concessions will be available by The Black Pearl Coffee Shop, Grandpas Sweet Treats, and Benchwarmers Bar and Grill.
• Funky Junk with White Trash and Curb Finds, 6410 West Grove Road, Mt. Morris, refurbished furniture, vintage Christmas, mid century furniture, retro items, jewelry, vintage goods, rusty junk and just plain fun stuff. While you’re here grab some yummy baked goods by Bobbi’s Country Catering.
• Berry View Orchard, 7504 West Midtown Road, Mt. Morris. Drive up the hill to find aronia berries, apples, cider donuts, and slushies. See the new Farm Store, filled with Jams, giftware and other treats, also featuring Nelson Family Farms Meats. Ralphies BBQ will be serving food.
• Hough’s Maple Lane Farms, 3788 North Mount Morris Road, Mt. Morris. Choose from syrup, candies, maple cinnamon rolls and dog treats; hosta plants, fabric, name brand clothing, jewelry, and nice “old finds.”
“Each market is clean, organized, and spacious. Support local vendors by getting ‘on the road again’ and driving the backroads all within a short distance from each event,” organizers said.
