Carol Seibert

Carol J. Seibert, 82, of Granville passed away Dec. 28, 2019, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

No service plans have been made at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Carol was born Dec. 14, 1937, in La Salle to Steve and Mary (Bazydlo) Jerman. She married Robert “Hawk” Seibert on Aug. 31, 1957, in Oglesby. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2016. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, John; one sister, Marsha O’Connell and one nephew, Ken Minor.

She graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School. Carol was a cook at Putnam County High School.

Survivors include four sons, Robert S. (Katy) Seibert of Henry, Scott (Cyndi) Seibert of Seneca, John (Cindy) Seibert of Plainfield, Ind. and Eric (Michelle) Seibert of Custer Park; four sisters, Mary Frandin of Ottawa, Vicky Davis of Davenport, Iowa, Dolores (Calvin) Moon of Cedar Point and Nancy (Bruce) Burmingham of Asheville, N.C.; grandchildren, Robert B., Tabitha, Erika, McCray, Jake, Jesse, Josh and Nikki; and one great-granddaughter Maddyson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hero Scuba Group, 8430 Stone Chase San Antonio, TX 78254. Donations to this nonprofit organization for PTSD has helped Carol’s grandson Brandon who suffers from PTSD and is now helping others. They are using scuba diving to help veterans, first responders and families to cope with post- traumatic stress disorder. The website is heroscubagroup.org
