Prep roundup: IC boys stay undefeated; Sycamore, H-BR girls grab convincing wins

Indian Creek stayed undefeated with an 88-61 win over Flanagan-Cornell at the Marseilles Tournament Friday, moving to 10-0 in the process.

Cooper Larsen led the Timberwolves with 21 points and added six assists.

Michael Lampson scored 18 points. Cam Russell scored 10 points, posted eight assists and seven steals. Brennen McNally scored 10 points and Izaak Smith added eight.

Spartans in trouble up North: Sycamore was defeated 53-38 by Woodstock North.

Grant McConkey and Xavier Gagnepain each scored 11 points.

Royals fall at Plano Invite: Hinckley-Big Rock dropped a 63-32 game to Coal City.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Royals move to Conso final: Hinckley-Big Rock handed Dwight a 50-35 defeat at the Earlville Christmas Tournament.

Tessa Prellberg's 32-point, 10-rebound effort led the Royals. Ashleigh Wackerlin added 12 rebounds and four points. The Royals will play Grant Park at 11 a.m. Saturday in the consolation finals.

Spartans run away with 'W': Sycamore coasted to a 59-35 win over Oswego East.

Kylie Feuerbach had 17 points and four rebounds. Faith Feuerbach scored 11. Evyn Carrier led the Spartans with seven rebounds.

Kaneland wins two at Classic: Kaneland grabbed two wins in three games at the Riverton Christmas Classic.

The Knights defeated Auburn 35-28 with McKenzie Schueler scoring 21 points to lead Kaneland. Kylie Holubecki scored 16 as the Knights fell 36-34 to Tremont. Taylor Carlson's 11 points led Kaneland in a 39-23 win over Mt. Pulaski.

GIRLS BOWLING

Spartans second at Harlem: Sycamore finished 94 pins back (with 5,918 total) of champions Minooka at the Annual Harlem Invite and finished second as a team.

Megan Kolberg rolled a six-game total of 1,447 to claim the individual title. She also had a high game of 277.

Maddie Lathrop bowled 1,309 over six games with a 279 game bright and early.

"Maddie got us going in the morning. Her first two games had us thinking of crazy numbers," Sycamore coach Andy Hampton said. "And then when she hit that bump in the road, well.....then Megan does what Megan does. She closed the day for us."

Alexis Munch rolled a 1,129 and Delaney Jones added a total of 1,115 pins.

PREP WRESTLING

Knights split: Kaneland went 1-1, defeating St. Charles North 42-34 and falling in its other dual.

Kole Valigota (132) and Diego Serriteno (170) both won by decision.

Zak Martinez (145) and Miles Ripper (285) both won by fall against SCN. Ripper grabbed the lone decision for the Knights in a 67-3 loss to Morton.
