Dozens of toys were collected for the DeKalb County Toys for Tots effort at the 50th annual Country Music Show and Toy Drive, organized by Gary Mullis and held this year on Dec. 1 at the Taylor Street High Rise in DeKalb. Along with the two large boxes of toys collected, Gus Arrendale of Springer Mountain Farms in Georgia sent in a check for $200 to be donated to the cause. The show was an open jam for country, bluegrass and gospel musicians. Mullis was honored with a celebratory cake for his 50 years of putting on the show.
