Marian Yepsen

TISKILWA — Marian Elizabeth Yepsen, 87, of Tiskilwa passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

Born July 22, 1928, in Cherry to Victor and Ruth (Ellis) Pozzi, she married John “Jack” Yepsen on Nov. 12, 1949, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Cherry. He survives.

She had worked at Westclox, the Manlius Cheese Factory, the Bureau Valley Chief newspaper, Tiskilwa Community Schools and as Tiskilwa Village clerk.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tiskilwa, the St. Mary’s Church Altar and Rosary Society, and the Tiskilwa Women’s Club.

Also surviving  her children, Daniel (Joanne) Yepsen of Tiskilwa, Cheryl (Sam) Pagoria of Spring Valley, Ron (Sheila) Yepsen of Sheffield and Dave (Lori) Yepsen of Princeton; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, John (Adrienne) Pozzi of Streator, Robert (Barbara) Pozzi of Spring Valley, Jim (DeAnn) Pozzi of Cherry, Rita (Lawrence) Mitchell of rural Peru and Richard (Jackie) Pozzi of rural Tiskilwa; many nieces and nephews; and Joanie Pozzi of Ladd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and Paul Yepsen; one great-granddaughter; one sister; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tiskilwa, with the Rev. Kevin Creegan and Deacon John Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tiskilwa.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at the church.

Arrangements are through the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home in Princeton.
